How to make a picture fit on shutterfly?
- Choose from several preset sizes.
- Click "Free" to crop your image exactly as you wish. Use your cursor to drag the box to your desired cropped size.
Select any photo, text box, or embellishment, then click and drag any of the handles (which look like little boxes) that appear around it. Dragging from the corners resizes while maintaining the aspect ratio of your photo.
If you do a little math, you'll see that your camera is making image files that are in 4 by 3 aspect ratio, regardless of the resolution. This means they have to be cropped to print out in one of the standard sizes (6X4, 7X5, etc.).
Photo Resolution | Maximum Print Size |

The only way to print photos without cropping is to keep the photos within the correct aspect ratio. So if your camera took the photos in an aspect ratio of 3:2, then you would need to print them in the same ratio (so either 6"x4" or 12"x8"/ 10x15 cm or 20x30 cm).
We have many designs to choose from, with sizes including 8x8, 8x10, 12x12, 11x14, 16x20, 12x30.
